Migrant Education is a federally funded program which is authorized through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Students who travel with their families for activities like fishing, berry picking, or work in canneries for least 8 days and 7 nights are likely to be eligible for the program. Student participants received free breakfast and lunch, as well as free books during the school year. The Migrant Education Program participation rates factor into a number of important district programs, including the breakfast, lunch, and snack community eligibility programs, and the federal subsidies for Internet connectivity in addition to providing direct benefits to participating students.

For additional information about the migrant program, contact Mt. Eccles 907-424-3236, or Cordova Jr/Sr High School with Paoola 907-424-3266.
