School Climate and Connectedness Survey

The SCCS is a voluntary statewide survey developed by American Institutes for Research (AIR) in partnership with Alaska Association of School Boards (AASB). This research-backed survey collects perception data from students, staff, and families to better understand and build a positive school climate in our school district.

2023

The Cordova School District ran the 2023 Family Survey Window in March of 2023 for Grades 6-12.

Refer to the CHS Parent Letter sent Feb 24, 2023.

The Student Survey was given to students in grades 7-12 at Cordova Jr/Sr High School and students in 6th grade at Mt. Eccles Elementary School the week of March 6th, 2023 during the school day.

SCCS 2023


2019

Through student and staff responses, it measured positive school climate, how connected students felt to adults and peers, social and emotional learning (SEL), and observed risk behaviors at school or school events. The 2019 SCCS was completed by 24,729 students in grades 6-12, 12,457 students in grades 3-5, and 5,648 staff from School Districts across Alaska.
